International recognition that reaffirms our commitment to a sustainable industry
At Technord, we firmly believe that industrial performance and environmental responsibility must go hand in hand. With this in mind, we have embarked on an ambitious initiative with the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), the global benchmark for defining and validating science-based climate targets.
Today, we are proud to announce that our greenhouse gas emissions reduction targets have been validated by the SBTi. This validation confirms that our decarbonization trajectory is aligned with the latest scientific knowledge and international climate change goals.
Concrete Goals for Reducing Our Carbon Footprint
The SBTi approach is not limited to a statement of intent. It is based on measurable commitments that are tracked over time.
As part of this initiative, Technord has committed, among other things, to reducing its direct and indirect energy-related emissions (Scopes 1 & 2) by 42% by 2030, compared to its 2023 baseline year. At the same time, we are committed to ensuring that more than 72% of our strategic suppliers have recognized climate goals of their own, in order to accelerate emissions reductions across our entire value chain.
This approach demonstrates our commitment to taking action not only within our own operations but also in collaboration with our partners to contribute to a sustainable low-carbon transition.
An Approach Focused on Serving Our Customers
Climate targets validated by the SBTi meet the market’s growing expectations for transparency, accountability, and environmental performance. Many industrial players are now incorporating these criteria into their procurement policies and ESG strategies.
For our clients, this validation provides additional assurance regarding the strength of our CSR approach and our ability to support their own sustainability goals.
A culture of continuous improvement
This step builds on the efforts Technord has been undertaking for several years to measure, manage, and reduce its environmental footprint. It also allows us to further structure our climate roadmap and accelerate the reduction initiatives being implemented within the company.
SBTi validation is not an end in itself, but a key step that reinforces our commitment to taking concrete and measurable action toward a more sustainable industry.
A collective success
We would like to thank all the employees who contributed to this initiative, as well as SLO, whose expertise and support played a decisive role throughout the process.
Together, we are continuing to build a more efficient, more responsible, and forward-looking industry.
