Find out how our teams helped our client to control its energy costs and improve its environmental impact
Initial situation
Our client wanted to renew and modernise its control of energy networks. These networks cover the following areas
water production network (primary, secondary and distribution networks)
electrical network (medium voltage substation, consumption point, production point – photovoltaic panels or cogeneration)
compressed air network
energy network (fuel, natural gas)
technical gas network (Nitrogen, Argon, …)
heating and steam network
The objective is to obtain a “real time” view of energy consumption and production with report generation for :
obtain a better global view of consumption and production
identify possible losses and overconsumption in order to take actions for improvement
check the accuracy of invoices from different energy suppliers
perform consumption prediction
transfer data from the current EIS system (obsolete PLC) and migrate functionalities to the new system
meet decarbonisation objectives
obtain Bcorp certification (a label awarded to commercial companies that meet, among other things, societal and environmental requirements)
Solution implemented by our teams
Our teams have integrated a single energy monitoring and reporting system for all energy consumed and produced at all of the client’s production sites.
Monthly and annual reports are automatically generated by equipment, by site and a comparison between equipment consumption and production.
The technical steps :
implementation of a Wonderware Aveva platform with about thirty web clients for visualisation and clients for supervision of energy networks: creation of reports, graphics, triggers, storage on the repository, alerts, scaling of measurements and parameterisation of sensors.
Deployment of a Siemens PLC architecture and deployment of an electrical part (addition of sensors) with remote acquisition points placed throughout the factory on several levels (machine, line, energy supplier’s meter output, energy production source), all connected to the company’s Ethernet network to retrieve the measurements.
integration by the PLC of the measurements of the energy sources produced by the various sites (photovoltaic, cogeneration, etc.)
Gain for the customer
Our client now has a complete view of all its energy networks (production and consumption).
It can therefore :
better manage consumption peaks
be alerted in case of abnormal consumption (leakage, etc.)
better control the unit cost price
take all decisions and actions in terms of impact on CO2 emissions
It should be noted that our client, like Technord, has obtained B Corp certification.
The work of our teams has contributed to this! Indeed, the implementation of centralised measures makes it possible to meet the improvement objectives encouraged by the B Corp label.
