Our Networks team recently visited one of the world&#8217;s leaders in technology and digital transformation, working to build a sustainable energy future for all. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Customer challenge<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To meet the <strong>growing demand for Ethernet connections<\/strong>, our customer wanted to <strong>standardize and extend its existing RJ45 copper and fiber Ethernet installation.<\/strong><br\/>The main challenge was to successfully <strong>cover the entire site with RJ45 structured cabling<\/strong>, while the <strong>number of consumers<\/strong> (RJ45 Ethernet sockets) and their <strong>exact locations <\/strong>were not <strong>yet known<\/strong> with certainty.<br\/>In addition, <strong>the new network had to be deployed<\/strong> while keeping<strong> production running<\/strong>, and <strong>without disrupting site personnel.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Solution implemented by our teams<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Our teams <strong>designed and deployed the entire passive F.O. and RJ45 copper network architecture.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This study, carried out in close collaboration with the customer, was based on a global number of RJ45 connections distributed by sector: <strong>600 connections spread over an area of around 6,500m\u00b2.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Some key figures for this project :<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><u>460 hours of site design and supervision<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Network architecture<\/strong> study and design<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Design and production of a <strong>layout plan for RJ45 zone boxes<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Design and production of <strong>layout plans for new network cabinets<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Sizing <strong>new cable trays<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Creation of a <strong>standard label<\/strong> showing the location of each zone box and RJ45 connector.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Drafting of <strong>test reports for<\/strong> fiber optic and copper <strong>certifications<\/strong> <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><u>160 hours of CAD <\/u><\/strong>(Computer-Aided Design)<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Layout <strong>plan for RJ45 consolidation boxes<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Production of <strong>electrical and DATA drawings for new cabinets<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>DATA cable list<\/strong> creation<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><u>2900 hours of site work<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Construction of <strong>3 new 19&#8243; DATA cabinets, equipped with UPS.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Installation of <strong>1,000 meters of new walkways.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Laying <strong>1,300 meters of single-mode fiber optic cable, divided into 7 separate segments.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Installation of <strong>30,000 meters of RJ45 Cat7a SFTP POE++ 1500MHz cable<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>384 fiber optic connections<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Installation of <strong>120 RJ45 consolidation boxes<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Connection of <strong>1200 RJ45 Cat6A SFTP connectors<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Deployment of<strong> 23 WIFI access points<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Fiber optic and copper segment validation tests <\/strong>to <strong>ISO\/IEC 11801 Class Ea standards<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><u>6-month project<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Gain for the customer<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The proposed technical solution, combined with the use of RJ45 consolidation boxes, enables <strong>modularity and flexible management of structured cabling<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We succeeded in deploying <strong>600 RJ45 connection points<\/strong> throughout <strong>the factory<\/strong>, without knowing exactly where the users would end up, and without disturbing the production units that were still running, <strong>to the customer&#8217;s complete satisfaction<\/strong>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Energy management is a hot topic right now.
