Success story for the Industrial Electricity, Process Control and MoM/MES departments

For a customer active in the extractive industry, our teams carried out the complete revamping of the electrical and automation installations of a rotary kiln.

Customer Challenge

The PLCs that controlled the furnace were becoming obsolete. The electrical control system and the communication network were no longer reliable enough to ensure an efficient and adequately supervised production. In order to guarantee the supply of the finished product, the plant could not be shut down for more than one month.

Solution proposed by Technord

Technord’s multidisciplinary teams carried out the complete revamping of the equipment:

  • electrical: studies, drawings, control and power cabinets
  • Automation: functional analysis, supply, installation and programming of new generation Rockwell PLCs
  • MES : new generation Wonderware Archestra supervision system for furnace operation, installation of a new Ethernet and fiber optic communication network to optimize supervision (efficient operation and maintenance diagnostic tools)

The installations were restarted under the new system on time, allowing the customer to ensure adequate production rates and quality for the future!
