Transhennuyère: new drinkable water supply for the region of Tournai (Belgium)

 Transhennuyère

Project

Supply the region of Tournai with drinkable water from a mix of underground water and evacuated quarry water taken from around thirty kilometres away.

The project was divided into three parts:

  • Collection is carried out thanks to 5 water pumping wells in 2 quarry reservoirs; the water is chlorinated directly by an autonomous station
  • The treatment is carried out in a water-filtering station at Gaurain-Ramecroix at a capacity of 1700 m3 /hour
  • The water is brought to its destination by Orcq-Pecq water conveyance: a 30 km pipe equipped with 37 automated tubes (SLC 500 & Dupline)

Technord's Contribution

Automation of a water collection, conveyance and filtering system (Process Control and Network).

  • Detailed engineering of the complete control/command system: 3,500 incoming/outgoing items supervised by 4 redundant 4 PLC Rockwells
  • Study, manufacture and set-up of redundant CPU electrical boxes and 13 racks boxes transported from the station
  • Study, manufacture and set-up of electrical boxes and well boxes/chlorination station/conveyance
  • Study, manufacture and set-up of network boxes (Ethernet/ Controlnet / Devicenet)
  • Functional and organic analysis of installations
  • Programming of synoptic views of installations
  • Development software (sequence and regulation)
  • Tests and start-up
